A course designed for ESOL students who want to develop their information and communication skills and have very little knowledge of ICT in general. The ability to work with information and communication technologies is becoming as essential in education, life and workplace success as reading, writing and numeracy. Technology is a tool that can empower you and help you succeed in all aspects of your life.The course will take place at the Harrow on the Hill campus (Lowlands Road, Harrow, HA1 3AQ).

How do you enrol for a course?
We will need to meet you so come to see us (dates below). All our ESOL and English courses are subject to an interview and assessment to determine your level (details below). Fees are full cost to those who are not on means tested benefits. Please note, we do not have childcare facilities so please do not bring your child to enrolment. Enrolment can take up to one and a half hours.
Before you enrol, you will have an interview and a test with one of our tutors to help us decide what level is right for you. This is nothing to worry about, we just need to make sure you are enrolling on the correct course. You will need to bring to the interview your previous certificates and details of any courses you have completed so far.
Items to bring when you interview and enrol:
- Evidence of your status in the UK – e.g. passport or Home Office letter.
- Evidence of your previous qualifications (exam certificates / results)
- Any proof of benefits.
- Exam certificates / results
- Using information and communication technologies (ICT)
- Finding and selecting information
- Developing , presenting and communicating information
How is the course assessed?
You will be regularly assessed during your course and receive feedback to help you develop the skills required for the final assessment.
Further study opportunities:
The majority of our students continue studying at Harrow College. We have a wide range of courses to choose from. A successful outcome will enable you to progress to the next level up and other further study such as Functional Skills English and/or Maths, ESOL, vocational courses etc.
Future job opportuntities:
Gaining English, maths and ICT qualifications will enable you to take a more active part in the community, find a new job, take your first step into employment, work as a volunteer or be able to help and support your children throughout their education.
