Learners will need to be working or on a practical placement for the duration of the course in a learning environment (school) as they need to show competence in both skills and knowledge
Who is the course for
This qualification is aimed at learners in placement / working in support roles within schools and colleges
There are 11 mandatory units in this qualification. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.
Class based discussions, presentations, group work, online resources, and independent study
How is the course assessed
Internally assessed with a range of evidence to build a portfolio of evidence with placement assessed observations
Where next - Further Studies
Learners can progress onto the Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or into the workforce.
