Evidence of Entry Level 3 in numeracy and literacy, which will be assessed at the interview.

Who is the course for

If you want to take your first step towards a career in the sport and leisure industry, then this course will give you practical knowledge and theory of sport. You will combine class-based study with fitness and sport activities. This qualification has been designed to help you understand the skills and knowledge needed to work in the sport and active leisure sector.

Course Content

The programme will provide the most up to date, comprehensive and high quality training for 16-18 year olds wishing to break into the sport and leisure industry. Some of the units you will study include . Taking part in sport activities . How the Body works . Working in Sport . Taking part in exercise and fitness.

Study and qualifications gained can also lead to opportunities in the following fields:

  • Higher Education
  • Overseas Scholarships This course can be run alongside our Education and Football Development Centre delivered by Queens Park Rangers football club. This provides you with a programme of football training while you work on a full-time course of academic study. You will also participate in games in the British Colleges Sport League, ECFA London.

Study Methods

A variety of lectures, research, student presentations and practical demonstrations by students.

How is the course assessed

You will be assessed through practical performance and a portfolio of work that you'll build up over the course.

Where next - Further Studies

Students who successfully complete can progress onto a Level 2 sports course.
