The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is designed to enhance your accounting skills and knowledge, building on the foundation established at Level 2. This qualification is suitable for those looking to advance their accounting career or prepare for higher-level accounting studies.

Units of study include:

  • Preparing Financial Statements
  • Management Accounting Techniques
  • Tax Processes for Business
  • Entry requirements

    5 x GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A- C) including English and Maths or at least a Pass in Level 2 Accounting with Level 2/GCSE in English, Maths and IT skills is required. Which will be assessed at the enrolment.

    This qualification is ideal for students who wish to work within the accounting sector. Students will be able to improve on employability skills as there are practical tasks that are transferable to many business sectors.

    Furthermore, there is an opportunity to develop on skills & knowledge of accounting and boost career prospects.

  • Study methods

    This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom.

    This Level 3 course is part of the National Skills Fund initiative and is fully funded for eligible learners. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course. Please ask a member of college staff for more information.

  • How is the course assessed?

    Your progress will be assessed through a combination of computer-based exams and practical assessments. Each unit has specific assessment criteria that you must meet to pass.

    Types of Assessment: 100% external exam

    • Computer-Based Exams (CBEs): Test your knowledge and understanding of key concepts through multiple-choice questions and tasks.
    • Computer-Based Projects (CBPs): Practical assessments that simulate real-world accounting tasks using accounting software.
