Coronavirus Update 26 March 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
w/c 30 March 2020

Following the government’s announcement on 18th March in relation to schools and colleges and the ongoing COVID-19 response, the College has adjusted its arrangements.

For most students the College, at all its campuses, is closed until we can advise you to return. We are monitoring the situation very closely - student wellbeing, your continued learning, your achievement and future progression are our priority.
We continue to support learning for all students remotely until the government advice changes. All affected students have been advised of this.

The College is following advice from the government and Public Health England and therefore expecting all students to remain at home. A very limited number of students have permission to be at College where, for example, they are included in the UK government’s priority list. These students have already been informed. If you are unsure then please contact your Attendance Coordinator.

The College will continue to contact students to advise on next steps including your ongoing learning. We will continue to advise you on how your teachers will work with you to continue your studies. Your remote learning will have started now and it is essential that you complete the work that you have been set.

The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in GCSE, A Level and vocational qualification exams being cancelled. All colleges are now awaiting confirmation on the national approach to 2019/20 assessments & exams affected by COVID-19. This will include methodologies for all qualifications: GCSEs, A Levels, BTECs, ESOL and functional skills.

We continue to be in regular contact with Awarding Bodies and government agencies to ensure we are well-informedHCUC (Harrow College & Uxbridge College) students are enrolled onto a wide range of qualifications across a number of Awarding Bodies and we are working to safeguard that no student is disadvantaged.

Please be assured that we will update all students when we have more details.

Thank you for your co-operation.
