Foundation learning programmes are good for students who have not achieved enough to progress to level 2 programmes. They are designed to enable you to sample a range of different subjects while you learn. They offer you the chance to improve your literacy and numeracy, increase your independence and take responsibility for your own learning and future.

You could also learn Construction, Plumbing and Electrical Installation. You will be taught by qualified tutors at Whitefriars Training Centre or Harrow Skills Centre which incorporate our state of the art facilities for the industry.

Your Choice

Start date: 16th April 2012

‘Your Choice’ is a 10 week programme aimed at young people 16+ and young adults, who are not in employment, education or training and want to continue with or return to education, but who are unsure about the vocational area they would like to pursue. Learners will study core units and choose from a range of optional units, to design their own programme. This way it’s ‘Your Choice’.

You get to design your own individual programme, by exploring the vocational areas such as Employability, Construction, IT and Sport, in order to inform future study or employment decisions. This programme will also develop your functional skills in English, Maths, IT, self-confidence, interpersonal and study skills.

The overall aim of this programme is to enable you to make an informed choice about the vocational sector you wish to pursue and develop your learning and employability skills, whilst preparing you for further study or employment.
