English for Speakers of Other Languages
Young Foundation Entry 1, 2 & 3
These courses are for students whose first language is not English, who want to improve their written and spoken English and want to go on to further studies or employment.
No formal qualifications are needed. Your level of English will be assessed by a written test and an interview at enrolment.
You will practise all four skills in communication - speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will also have the opportunity to develop your language skills through use of IT and your employability skills . In addition, you will practise number skills and attend a tutorial session each week.

Apart from having an interest in these vocational subjects, you will also need an appropriate level of English and be able to pass an aptitude test. You will study Functional Skills English, Maths and IT. You will also develop your employability skills via an additional award.
