Harrow College Tutors Get Set Network Work at the London 2012 Olympic Games Harrow College and Terry Venables join forces for 2012Harrow College raises over £1000 for the Robyn Higgins Appeal
In an effort to help Robyn Higgins, a 7 –year-old girl with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer, Harrow College students and staff fundraised more than £1000. Treatment is only available in the U.S at a cost of £300,000. Beauty students in the Serenity Salon, supported by their lecturer Kathryn Douthwaite, offered free manicures in return for a donation to Robyn’s Appeal and raised a staggering £177.
Harrow Skills Centre took part in a 5-a-side football tournament at Broadfields Centre. The Skills Centre students and staff each contributed £5 to participate and raised the total of £240.
Health and Social Care students organised a fundraising week at Harrow Weald which included a tombola stall with opportunities to win perfume, dvds and jewellery, food stalls selling cakes, biscuits, crisps, snacks, drinks and a raffle with a first prize of 2 tickets to Thorpe Park on the next College trip. They raised over £700. All money raised by the College went directly to the Appeal to raise funds for Robyn’s treatment.
