Celebrating student success at Harrow College Student Awards Ceremony
Harrow College celebrated students’ achievements and success at the Student Awards Ceremony held at the Kadwar Patidar Centre on 30th June 2009. Over 100 students were awarded in various categories ranging from Outstanding Achievement to Principal’s Award for Courage and Commitment. The collective and individual successes of Harrow College students were recognised during the evening.
With live performances from College students and staff, the awards ceremony entertained over 300 guests who also included family and friends of the awardees.
Encouraging the students to shine in their studies, Olympian Larry Ochike, the guest speaker at the event, gave an inspirational speech to the audience. ‘I believe in hard work and a good education, which has allowed me to excel both on the athletics track and off. I run my own company which has opened great new opportunities for me. None of this would be possible without a strong academic foundation. Now I can coach and deliver talks all over the country in the hope of inspiring my audiences into chasing their own dreams. My belief is that talent can take you a long way, but hard work will take you all the way.’
