Harrow College Beauty Student Wins a Place in the World Skills National Final
We are very pleased to announce that Harrow College Beauty Therapy student, Sladzhana Dimitrova has achieved a place in the national World skills final in November.
Sladzhana previously won a gold medal in the Advanced Beauty Therapy category at the World Skills regional competition in June and was the highest scoring winner from her heat.
The World skills competition aims to celebrate and 'inspire the young skilled stars of the future. This unique event will showcase the exciting opportunities in further education, skills and Apprenticeships, highlighting the vital importance of skills to economic growth in the UK.'
Sladzhana is one of only 12 competitors to reach the final from colleges across the UK. She will have to perform a range of challenging Level 3 Beauty treatments at the final which will be held at the NEC in Birmingham. After winning the gold medal in her heat Sladzhana stated, "Just participating in Worlds Skills was an exciting experience and winning the gold medal made it even better. It was the first competition I had entered so I was very nervous but it was all worth it. I would like to thank my tutor Debbie who has been key in leading me to achieve this award."
Debbie Adams, Course Tutor for level 3 Beauty, commented "This year's level 3 Beauty Therapy group was of an exceptionally high calibre, Sladzhana is a very dedicated and professional therapist who deserves to showcase her talents in this national competition."
Coron Zammito, Curriculum Manager for Hair and Beauty, said; "Harrow College is very proud of the excellent standards of both the students and the lecturers who have achieved so much this year. It is a very exciting time within the Hair and Beauty department as we have had 100% success with learners on the majority of our courses this year."
We wish Sladzhana the best of luck in November!
