Teacher Education
We are proud to be members of the Westminster Centre of Excellence in Teacher Training (CETT). We have an excellent Teacher Education department where students receive specialised training from industry professionals. This focused environment prepares students for possible work in education, training, industry and public services.
We offer a range of teacher training courses including the Certificate in Education/ PGCE/Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. This is accredited by the University of Westminster. It is a part-time in –service course 1 day a week for 2 years.
Courses are offered day-time and evening, suitable for those who work or support a family.
Harrow College will be offering the following courses during 2009/10:
General Teacher/Training Courses:
- Communication Skills for Teaching
- C & G 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
- Certificate in Education/PGCE/ Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, Year 1 and Year 2
Specialist Teacher/Training Courses:
- CELTA:Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults
- Certificate in Education/PGCE/Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector with an Additional Diploma in Teaching ESOL Years 1 and 2
- Additional Diploma in Teaching ESOL Years 1 & 2
- CACHE level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
