Financial Support for Students

Adult Learning Grant (ALG) is being incorporated into the 19+ Discretionary Learner Support Fund (dLSF). ALG payments will only continue to those students who currently receive it who are on a two year programme which is due to finish in June/July 2012. Those students who are starting a different level of programme will no longer be able to apply.

All other 19+ students may be able to claim support from the 19+ dLSF to help with the cost of their learning if eligible and payments will be linked to attendance. Details of this Fund will be made available by Learners Services and published on this website once full details are known.

The Learner Support Fund (LSF) is available to students with a disability, on benefits or with a low family income studying a qualification course. There is no age limit and you can receive LSF in addition to ALF.

Care to Learn is available if you are a parent under 20 years, you can claim for help with childcare costs for the hours you are studying at College, providing your child is looked after by a registered childcare provider.
