Apprenticeships
Do you want to make your organisation more successful, dynamic and competitive by addressing your skills gaps directly?
Do you want to reach a high level of ability and performance?
An Apprenticeship is a form of vocational training enabling people to earn while they learn the skills required to succeed in their chosen career. As employees, apprentices work alongside practised staff to gain job-specific skills and usually will need to attend college one day a week.
Apprenticeships can improve your organisation’s efficiency and profitability, and you can tailor and design the apprenticeship to your individual needs.
Apprenticeships can help your business by offering fresh new talent and ensure that your workforce has the practical skills and qualifications your organisation needs, the combination of on and off job learning ensures they learn the skills that work best for your business.
Apprentices can benefit your business by:
- Improving your productivity - apprentices receive relevant training; they can have an instant effect and make a significant contribution to your business.
- Motivating your workforce - apprenticeships are available to both new and current employees. As a result of their training, apprentices are highly motivated and enthusiastic to know more. The extra responsibility also makes them feel more appreciated and they are easier to retain in the long term.
- Giving them relevant training - apprenticeships provide your workforce with expertise that’s not only specific to your industry, but also directly relevant to your business. They are literally designed around your business needs.
- Avoiding skills shortages -. Apprenticeships can help your workforce master the latest techniques to fill the skills shortage you have. By taking on apprentices, you develop the specialist skills you need to keep pace with the latest technology and working practices in your sector.
Apprenticeships are offered in the occupational fields of Children’s Care, Learning & Development, Health & Social Care, Hairdressing, Business Administration, Customer Service, Plumbing and Electrical.
Apprentices are paid a minimum of £100 a week by their employer who will also contribute to their learning and the assessment of skills in the work place. Apprenticeships are funded by the Government and the European Social Fund so Apprentices and employers do not have to pay for the training programme.
