Become an NVQ/QCF Assessor

NVQ qualifications are becoming increasingly popular in the UK. More candidates are now working towards their NVQ meaning there is a bigger demand for NVQ Assessors, which is why at Harrow College we provide the training required to become an assessor.

As an assessor you will support and assess people working towards National Vocational Qualifications. You will make sure that candidates meet the occupational standards needed to achieve the NVQ/QCF by:

  • supporting and guiding them
  • helping them to gather evidence
  • judging their evidence
  • providing feedback

You do not need any set academic qualifications to become an assessor, but need to be at level 2 (GCSE) in literacy and have a vocational qualification in the area you wish to assess. You should also have at least 2 years recent experience, knowledge and skill in the occupational sector you will be assessing. You also need to be interested in developing others, have good organisational skills and be a good listener.

Becoming an assessor requires time and energy but the personal benefits include:

  • gaining a nationally recognised assessor qualification
  • self development
  • opportunities to further your career which may result in more pay
  • satisfaction from knowing that you are motivating others who are looking to progress their career

Cost : £750
