Deaf Studies, Lip-reading and Sign Language

Harrow College is a Centre of Excellence for the Hearing Impaired - the only one in North West London.

The Communication Support Unit provides support for students who are profoundly deaf, partially hearing or visually impaired. It also runs a variety of courses for those interested in British Sign Language (BSL):

Signature Level 2 Award in Communicating with Deafblind People
Signature Level 2 Award in Communicating and Guiding with Deafblind People
Signature Level 2 British Sign Language
Signature Level 1 Award in Deaf Awareness and Communication
Lipreading
Signature Level 1 British Sign Language
British Sign Language Level 2 Preparation
British Sign Language Level 3 Preparation

My course was booked through my workplace. I like studying here as it’s close to my work and the teachers are good. I think the teaching is excellent, I’m glad to have chosen the BSL course. I would definitely recommend the course as it has helped me to communicate with customers in my workplace.
