Rashid Kasirye
Rashid Kasirye graduated this year from Harrow College and is currently working on his online entertainment and fashion channel, Link Up TV. He also teaches video production to young people.
Rashid Kasirye took his BTEC National Diploma at Harrow College. ‘Studying Media at Harrow College opened my eyes to all the fields in media and challenged me in many of the units,’ explains Rashid, ‘I developed and learnt new skills like animation, special effects, visual production and motion graphics that will help me with my work. I was very inspired by what the teachers/lecturers had done in their lives and I will never forget the advice that they have given me.’
One of Rashid’s biggest projects was with Red Bee Media which used to be a commercial subsidiary of the BBC until four years ago. With Red Bee Media, he helped make two television idents and one television advertisement.
Giving credit to Harrow College’s Media department, he says, ‘The department helped me a lot. I got on very well with everyone. It gave me life lessons and advice to help me with my career in the industry.’
Rashid’s future aspiration is to expand his business into a large visual production company and spread the business into Europe and Africa. Harrow College wishes him all the best!
