We all have problems from time to time and if you are feeling down, stressed, anxious or with nowhere to turn to, we can provide you with a counsellor who will listen to your concerns, no matter what they are. Counselling helps you to look at problems you are experiencing in such a way that allows you to begin to take control of your life. Counselling involves talking and listening and many often find it easier to talk to a stranger than to a friend or relative. If you have any personal or emotional problems, have a specific concern or a general feeling that things are not quite right, it may be helpful to talk them through and explore them in a safe place. People seek counselling for many different reasons. These reasons include:
- Lack of confidence
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement and other losses
You will be offered six sessions, and you will be seen by the same counsellor each week. A session will last for fifty minutes and be on the same day and at the same time each week.
Our counsellors offer a confidential space in which to explore and understand what’s going on. No information will be disclosed to anyone outside of the service without your written permission, except under rare legal circumstances. All our counsellors work within the ethical framework for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
